Hot Dog Roast

We were promised a hot dog/s'more  roast in Gram's pasture, but Dad got sick, so we put it off a week, and then it got to late on the next Saturday night.  Monday, September 9, was Mom and Dad's 24th wedding anniversary. They always go out to dinner, usually in Brookings. Sunday, Dad asked Mom if she wanted to go out that night, instead of Monday.  We were dropped off at Gram's house, and Nana & Grampy met us there.  We had an awesome night!  After we ate dinner, we went to the hill, and made cardboard sleds (something we used to do all the time when we were kids) and slid down the hill.  Mr. thought that was the coolest thing ever!  Meg started going down the hill, and he went running after her and jumped on her back! We quickly learned that we had to take him down on every run, or he would hurt himself trying to join us midway down! After it got to dark to see, (even with Nana's headlights shining on the hill) we went back to the fire and roasted marshmallows. The stars were phenomenal that night.  I saw the Milky Way for the very first time.  It was seriously stunning! I have never seen stars so clearly, not even camping on the lake!
